Dance for Haiti with Sawandi Wilson
Dance for Haiti! Professional dancer Sawandi Wilson took a trip with Black Diaries to Port au Prince, Haiti where he taught hip hop dance to children at Orphanage Mary Mother. This orphanage is home to 30 boys and girls, from infants to young adults. This was a collaborative effort with Les Couleurs NYC, a nonprofit which teaches art therapy to children in orphanages and schools throughout Haiti.
Watch as he challenges the Westernized stereotypes he previously held about Haiti to see the beauty in the people and the land.
